A Night of Teamwork, Creativity, and Robotics at PS 220

Our PS 220 Title I Robotics Workshop was truly an incredible night, and we are so grateful to everyone who joined us.

First and foremost, thank you to our parents and families for showing up with curiosity, patience, and enthusiasm. Your willingness to jump in, problem-solve, and work together made the evening not just successful, but genuinely joyful.

A huge thank you as well to Ace Clark, who led the workshop and thoughtfully provided pizza and drinks for our families. Ace designed a hands-on experience that challenged and inspired everyone in the room. Families were organized into three groups, each responsible for building a different part of a robotic hand. At the end, all the pieces came together to form one complete creation.

It wasn’t easy. Parts were spread across different tables, instructions required focus, and the task demanded collaboration. But the determination in the room was undeniable. Parents leaned in, communicated across groups, and stayed committed—while still finding moments to laugh and enjoy the process.

As parents worked diligently on assembling the hand, the kids had a great time socializing, observing, and cheering the progress along the way. And when the final pieces came together, the excitement in the room was real. Seeing the completed robotic hands was a proud and celebratory moment for everyone.

Thank you again to our families for being such an engaged and supportive community. Nights like this remind us how powerful learning can be when schools and families come together. Title 1 committee
