Bedtime Ready For Families

Dear Parents,

This past Monday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Andrea Guerra from the Pajama Program to PS220 for an incredible Bedtime Ready Workshop! Parents gained valuable insights on how to create the perfect bedtime routine to help their children get the quality sleep they need for better school days.

Did you know that 1 in 3 children do not get the recommended amount of sleep? Lack of rest can lead to challenges in school, as well as physical and mental health concerns. But the good news is that Sleep is a superpower!

During the workshop, parents learned: - How much sleep children need at different ages - What happens in the body and brain during sleep - How sleep impacts health, behavior, and learning - The 5-step R.E.A.D.Y.® Bedtime Routine: Review the day    ✔ Eat a light snack    ✔ Activities like reading or a bath    ✔ Disconnect from screens    ✔ Yield to a peaceful sleep environment


Parents also engaged in hands-on activities, reflecting on their own bedtime challenges and routines. Now, with the practical tools and strategies learned, families can create healthier nighttime habits for happier, more focused school days. And great news! Pajamas will be shipped to the school for attending families!
