Dear Parents,
A huge THANK YOU to all the parents and students who joined us for an exciting, hands-on STEM Exploration Workshop with Mr. Galanty! Your enthusiasm and creativity made this event an incredible success!

Discovering STEM at Home
Mr. Galanty kicked off the workshop by emphasizing the importance of STEM education in fostering critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Parents learned simple ways to introduce STEM concepts at home, such as building straw towers and engaging in fun, hands-on challenges. To make learning even more exciting, he encouraged turning STEM activities into friendly competitions!
Hands-On STEM Fun In the workshop, families explored engineering principles using everyday materials. Before building, participants sketched their designs, strategized their approaches, and then got to work constructing tall, stable towers using marshmallows, toothpicks, straws, and tape. The challenge? Create a structure that could stand for at least 30 seconds! The room was filled with laughter, teamwork, and some impressive designs!
Next, families took on the Egg Drop Challenge! Participants designed protective landing systems to keep an egg safe when dropped from a height. This challenge encouraged creativity and problem-solving as participants experimented with different materials to cushion the impact and prevent breakage—just like real engineers designing safe landing technology!
Real-World STEM in Action Mr. Galanty introduced a range of STEM projects that families can try at home, such as:
Volcano Eruption Experiment – Learn about chemical reactions with baking soda and vinegar.
Simple Circuits – Explore electricity by building a basic circuit.
Geometry Scavenger Hunt – Discover math in everyday objects.
Thank You Parents! We appreciate your participation and hope you continue to explore the magic of STEM at home! A special thank you to Mr. Galanty for leading such an engaging and inspiring session. Keep the discoveries going, and stay tuned for more exciting workshops ahead!
